Giovani Bottesini, M.Eng., RSP1, P.Eng.
Giovani Bottesini is a Transportation Safety Engineer at TNS, with over 12 years of experience in traffic engineering including consulting, public service at the municipal level, research and traffic enforcement. He holds a master’s degree in transportation engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil and is a registered professional engineer in Ontario. He also holds the Road Safety Professional Level 1 certification from the Transportation Professional Certification Board.
Giovani has delivered numerous projects related to traffic safety, traffic engineering, transportation planning, and traffic data management. He has completed over 80 in-service road safety reviews, road safety audits, safety studies for school zones, reviews of guide rails, speed limits, parking studies, traffic signal timing reviews, and traffic impact studies for jurisdictions across Ontario and Canada.
He has experience with traffic data acquisition, analysis, and quality control, having worked on projects such as mechanical sidewalk clearing routes, parking regulations, origin-destination studies, and traffic volume production for the Ontario Ministry of Transportation.
Giovani also has experience with transportation-related policy including contributing updates to the Highway Safety Manual, municipal-level traffic calming, on-street parking, and speed management policies, and update of the Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) guide for traffic calming/speed management. Giovani provided substantial contribution as part of the project steering committee for the Ontario Traffic Council (OTC) Vision Zero Guide, and led the development of the City of Richmond Hill's Traffic Safety and Operations Strategy.
